Attorneys

 

The firm’s objective is to hire attorneys who have excelled in their studies in law school and have graduated within the top 15% of their class. 

 

We provide extensive divorce and family law training for all of our attorneys as well as their continuing education.  We do this by providing attorneys with extensive one-on-one training and mentoring, self study, and sending attorneys to a divorce and family law seminars.  Farzad & Mazarei offers an extensive divorce and family law library that includes books, audio tapes, videos and electronic material.  All research is done within the offices of the firm.

 

Attorneys are not required to have divorce or family law experience to apply, however it is preferred.  If specific family law experience is lacking, all attorney applicants must have a minimum of 3 years experience in civil litigation.  This experience includes and is not limited to law and motion, discovery, pleadings as well as experience in taking or defending depositions, and court room experience.  No specific in-court trial experience is required by an applicant, although it is preferred.  Attorney applicants must possess excellent writing and typing skills. 

 

Farzad & Mazarei’s divorce and family law attorneys must have excellent people skills, must be intelligent and compassionate.  Attorneys must also possess excellent leadership skills.  Attorneys must be able to work independently and in a team environment.   

 

Finally, attorneys interested in employment with Farzad & Mazarei’s family law department must enjoy and be serious about the practice of divorce and family law and intend to practice in the area of divorce and family law long-term.

Non-Attorneys (Paralegals, Law Clerks and Secretaries)

 

Legal assistants and paralegals must be able to work in an individual and team environment.  Success in these positions requires the lawyers and non-lawyers to communicate regularly.  You must be able to follow direction and must not be afraid to ask questions.  Organization is an absolute as you must maintain your tasks and your work space in an immaculate condition.   Writing and excellent typing skills are required for most non-attorney positions.

 

No specific family law experience is required.  However, if you lack family law experience, you must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a civil litigation law office or law firm and must be familiar with discovery and law & motion matters as well as be able to manage court deadlines and timelines.
